Description
This charming zoomorphic whistle is carved with exquisite detail and sensitivity. The Ancient Mayans most likely used it to send messages from one tribe to another. However, the melodic sounds that can be heard today from this ancient whistle indicate that it may have been used during rituals or for entertainment purposes. One can imagine the beautiful music produced while a group of people played simultaneously. - (PF.2828)
