Description
Tourmaline, which ranges in hue from green to pink, to blue or black, is one of the most intense and beautiful stones known to man. It is said to channel creative energy and focus thought, for which reason it is much favored by artists. When worn on or about the body, tourmaline provides a spiritual and physical balance, a feeling of harmony and happiness. It is valued as a healing stone on all levels, bringing restorative energy to both the body and the emotions. Its bright radiance, its clarity, and the broad spectrum of its colors make tourmaline one of the most magical of stones, possessed of an energy which transforms the wearer both inside and out. Amethyst was prized by all the great civilizations of the past. Its name comes from the Greek word meaning "not drunk", for it was thought to keep the wearer sober no matter how much wine he might consume. Many therapeutic properties are ascribed to the gem: it cleanses the body of impurities, it can cure gout, and it keeps the mind clear and alert and improves the memory. Because of its purple hue, amethyst is also said to have a soothing effect, preventing outbursts of temper and making one generally amiable. It is also reputed to inspire creativity. Those wearing the gem feel wonderful both inside and out. Beautiful as the moonlit sky shot through with golden stars, lapis has been treasured since the dawn of civilization. Its rarity made it the favored jewel of ancient royalty, especially in Mesopotamia and Egypt. Besides its appealing color, lapis is thought to have curative powers and is used as a remedy for fever, gallstones, insomnia, and melancholy. Who, looking upon this splendid stone, could feel anything but happiness? - (FJ.3964)
