This book covers the story of joseph and zaleikah written in nastali'q on 163 leaves of thin,native glazed paper, each measuring 7 1/4 by 4 1/4 inches, with text in double columns on 13 lines. Included are 16 full page miniatures, with Nastal,iq script above and below. 12mo, full oriental skiver with Byzantine cartouches stamped in blind on covers; plain leather doublures; some wormholes and a few other minor defects. In a full levant morocco solander case. The miniatures include a heavenly scene depicting peris in a starry sky; Muhammed and Ali surrounded by ten priests and counsellors; the rescue of Bizhad by Rustam; Majnun in the desert with his animal friends; Bahram Gur visiting his princesses; Joseph and Zulaika; and Jamshid and a peri. - (DC.0911)
