Description |
What function did this intriguing vessel serve in
Biblical times? Was it a baby's bottle? A
receptacle for some precious liquid--fine oil or
perfume--to be measured drop by drop? A
container for medicine, the property of some
ancient healer? Beautifully painted in a lively
geometric style, with holes so that it may be
suspended from threads, and with a handle for
pouring, it keeps its ancient secrets to itself. We
do not know who might have touched it so long
ago, or what comfort it brought to their lives; yet
when we handle it today, the energy of its past
experience flows through us and we become part
of its history.
