Description

The elegantly formed body of this vessel is supported by three hollow conical legs, which are surmounted by representations of reptiles. The earthenware body is a lustrous burnished red, and the appliquéd creatures are left matte, which adds to their illusion of realism. This vessel successfully combines a sophisticated elegance in its overall form, with a primitive realism demonstrated through the modeling of the creatures. - (PF.3683)
