Description

This kneeling figure, recalling larger stone monuments, probably depicts a supplicant in a perpetual attitude of prayer. Centuries ago it was worn to gain the favor of the Olmec gods, offering constant homage to the heavens on behalf of its owner. We cannot help but wonder what that ancient individual wished for.
