Description |
‘The design consists of three standing figures. In
the middle is the god with mace, in short clothes
and holding his mace at the waist. Facing him
on the right is a human worshipper in fringed
robe, raising one hand. On the left is a god in
horned tiara and long robe falling in creases,
raising both hands.
This is an Old Babylonian seal, c. 1900-1600 B.C.
It is in the typical detailed style of the period,
well engraved, also in very good condition.’
Interpretation and dating provided by Professor
