Century AD Dimensions:6.3" (16.0cm) high Collection: Classical Medium: Glass
The body is in the shape of two tube
connected by a common wall and a flat base.
Two handles rise from the middle of the body
to the rim, where they are linked by a basket
handle.
Vessels such as this were believed to have
been used to store and apply kohl-eye
makeup. The fact that they consist of two
tubes meant that they could have been used
to store two different colours of makeup. The
long tube meant that a spatula could have
been inserted.
