Description
It is impossible to guess the identity of the handsome young man who adorns this lovely vessel. Does he represent some mortal citizen of the ancient world? Is he a hero from classical myth like Achilles or Meleager? Or perhaps he is a god? To hold this jug as it was first held so long ago, brings us in touch with a vanished world, and with the people who gave it life. We share with them an appreciation for that which is truly beautiful. - (PF.0202)
