Though lacking its tripod supports, this superb apricot-colored vessel is otherwise unbroken and intact. The deity portrayed is one of the primary gods of the Teotihuacan pantheon, known by the name Tlaloc. On either side of the vase, his face emerges from the riotous maze of his costume--observant, impassive, accepting of the homages of men. - (PF.0583)
