Description |
The arch of Titus, celebrating his victories in the
east, still stands in the Roman forum today.
Perhaps the person who first held this coin was
present as Titus rode in triumph through the
streets of the city, accompanied by the cheers of
the crowd. Bearing the emperor’s aristocratic
image on one side and the eagle of Zeus on the
other, this silver coin evokes the grandeur and
glory of the classical world at its height. The
person who wears it today is certain to enjoy a
major triumph all their own.
