An extremely attractive ormolu-mounted
Sèvres
style porcelain French mantel clock,
dating to the last quarter of the 19th
Century.
The gilt ormolu case is adorned by classical
style acanthus swags.
It has hand decorated porcelain
panels, the central Sèvres piece panel
depicting a
romantic courtship
scene, with musician playing the lute to a
young
lady in rural surroundings, the two lateral
ones
are decorated with with woodland scenery.
The beautiful Roman numeral dial is a
mixture
of
ormolu and fine enamel over floral
decorated
Sevres porcelain base on five gild bronze
feet.
